About

Who We Are

We are a church of around two hundred, situated in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains. We have been together for seven years, and God has blessed us tremendously during this time, beginning with the gift of the property and buildings in which we currently meet. God gave us our property and buildings as a free gift, to better equip us to serve the lost and broken in our community. As a body we are devoted to the ministry outlined in Isaiah 61:1-4, and later affirmed by Jesus Christ. We have been called to preach the good news to the poor, to bind up the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and freedom for the prisoners, then they will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”

What We Do

We carry out this calling through the simple idea of REACH God, REACH One Another, REACH The World. As a body we REACH to God throughout the week in our services, our worship and our prayer, drawing near to Him and being filled with His Grace, Love, and fellowship (2nd Cor. 13:14). We REACH One Another by taking what God has filled us with and using it within the body of Christ. We do this through weekly studies, Life Groups, special events, pot lucks, and joining with other local churches throughout the week. We REACH The World through our missions at home and abroad, where we take the idea of preaching the good news to the poor, binding the broken hearted, and freeing captives literally. At home we minister to the poor through our food and clothing closet, lending much needed help to families in our community. We bind up the broken hearted through our pastoral counseling, and free the captives through our biblical 12-step, as well as teaming with Hope, Help and Healing, a local Christ-centered drug and alcohol rehab program. Throughout the year our church is also involved in short-term missions to Mexico, the Philippines, and Africa (this coming summer).

What We Believe

We believe the Bible to be the only inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.

We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

We believe in the deity of Jesus Christ; in His virgin birth; in His sinless life; in His miracles; in His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood; in His bodily resurrection; in His ascension to the right hand of the Father; and in His personal return in power and glory.

We believe that for the salvation of lost and sinful man, regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential, and that repentance from sin and acceptance of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior is the only way to come into a relationship with God.

We believe in the present ministry of the Holy Spirit, by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a godly life. We further believe His power and gifts are available to believers today.

We believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are saved unto the resurrection of life, and they that are lost unto the resurrection of damnation.

We believe it is important to uphold the scriptural practices of the early church. Therefore, we hold to the practice of water baptism and the regular taking of communion. We do not believe that either of these practices is essential for salvation, but that they serve as a demonstration of our living faith in Christ.

We believe in the spiritual unity of believers in Christ, and the evidence of that unity being shown by how we love one another.
